What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

CBD, or more specifically, cannabidiol is a cannabinoid that is found naturally in the cannabis plant. Happy Shaman CBD Oil doesn't contain any THC (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive ingredient sometimes also found in the cannabis plant. There have been thousands of studies done with CBD and it has become one of the most researched chemicals of the cannabis plant; possibly the most important.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a hemp seed oil that contains high levels of cannabidiol (CBD). When the CDB is extracted from the hemp plant, it is then emulsified into a carrier base.

CBD Oil can also be referred to as CBD-Rich Hemp Oil, Hemp Derived CBD Oil or CBD-Rich Cannabis Oil. Remember the word cannabis refers to the name of the plant, not to mistaken as being marijuana. Cannabis refers to both Hemp and Marijuana. See FAQ below for a more detailed comparison.

We do not sell marijuana, aka pot or weed, marijuana oil, marijuana juice or marijuana liquid. There are no psychoactive ingredients in CBD Oil.

Where does CBD come from and how is it extracted?

Happy Shaman CBD Oil is extracted from the industrial hemp plant. The hemp plant (cannabis) is now legally grown in apporximately half the states that make up the United States of America. The oil is extracted from mature hemp stalks and also from the plants seeds. The extraction is done by the use of a supercritical C02 extration system that provides the purest and cleanest CBD oil on the market.

All CBD oil extracted for use in Happy Shaman CBD Oil products is from non-GMO hemp and is grown organically without the use of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. We are proud to say all of our industrial hemp is grown on family owned farms who believe in sustainable agriculture.

Will I get high from CBD Oil?

Not even close. Although CBD and THC (the psychoactive chemical) are both compounds found in the cannabis plant, industrial hemp and what is often refered to as marijuana are very different. Marijuana is grown in a way that promotes high levels of THC. The highest concentrations of THC are found in the flower buds of the plant. Marijuana cultivators focus the energy on making as many buds as possible, to maximize the amount to THC rich material.

Industrial hemp is a different animal because it is grown for its fibers and CBD. The fibers and CBD are both found in the stalks of mature plants. Since the focus is on the stalks, branches and flowers are not as important and the growing methods change to accomodate this. The hemp plant has nearly undetectable levels of THC and are planted very close together to promote tall growth heights. After all, the taller the plant the more stalk they end up with.

It is worth noting that Happy Shaman CBD Oil does contain trace amounts of the psychoactive ingredient, THC. The levels are well below the legal limit of 0.9%. With levels this low, it will not get you 'high'. However, it is unknown how this will effect a drug screening.

Is Hemp legally grown in the United States and is CBD legal?

Yes and yes. Industrial hemp and products made from it are legal and cultivated legally in the United States. Even though it's not legally grown in all states, that doesn't mean that it's illegal to have products made from hemp. Importing hemp products is estimated to be a two billion dollar industry and is 100% legal.

Is there anything else I need to use my Happy Shaman CBD Oil?

Yes, you will need a 510 threaded e-cigarette battery and a charger. 510 threaded batteries are very popular and are pretty much an industry standard. Most e-cig shops will carry a battery capable of attaching the Happy Shaman CBD Oil tank. A battery and charger are included free when you purchase a Variety 10-Pack or they can be added to your order when adding the product to your cart, as a product add-on option.

How do I use my Happy Shaman CBD Oil?

In order to use the 1ml pre-filled tank of Happy Shaman CBD Oil, you will need an electronic cigarette battery with a 510 threaded connection. This is as close to an industry standard thread as you can get, but there are some other there that use proprietary threading.

With the 510 threaded battery, screw the Happy Shaman CBD Oil tank onto the battery. Make sure the battery is turned on (if applicable). Once the tank is securely attached to the battery, and the battery is turned on, take a draw from the mouth piece on the end of the tank (opposite of the threading). If you battery has a button, you will need to press the button as you take a draw.

Some find that holding the draw in for a few seconds helps allow the CBD to be absorbed better by the body. In which case, the benefits of the CBD could be stronger.

Will CBD oil help with my [insert ailment here]?

This is truely an unknown and we do not make any claims that Happy Shaman CBD oil can or might help with any medical issue. Research into this is being conducted extensively as there have been signs that it might help in some cases. Again, this hasn't been proven. We suggest doing some research for yourself and coming to your own conclusion.

The official Food and Drug Administration (FDA) disclosure regarding CBD is as follows: These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. Always check with your phsycian before starting a new supplement program.

Is CBD Oil the same as Hemp Seed Oil?

No. Hemp seed oil can be purchased, cheaply, at many local retail grocery stores. Hemp seed oil is used made by cold pressing hemp seeds. This results in extremely low levels of CBD. CBD Oil is extracted from the plant using supercritical CO2 extraction. This produces a very high concentration of CBD that is then emulsified into hemp seed oil, as a carrier base only.

Do I have to live in a state where medical marijuana is legal?

Absolutely not! We ship to all 50 states because CBD oil is 100% legal. Happy Shaman CBD Oil comes from the hemp plant, which is legally cultivated in many states in the country.

Hemp and Marijuana. What's the difference?

Industrial Hemp and Marijuana can both be classified as the same plant, Cannabis Sativa. Hemp is always sativa, whereas Marijuana can be sativa, indica and ruderalis variants of the cannabis plant. The differences between the are in both the way they are bred and how they are grown.

Hemp plants are bred and grown in order to emphasize the production of long stalks with low flower counts. They are typically very tall and slender because the stalks are primarily what is used for CBD extraction and hemp product manufacturing. Marijuana is bred and cultivated with a focus on flower production, since it is where the highest concentration of the psychoactive THC is found. These plants grow to be full, almost bush like, plants in order to increase the amount of flowers produced.

Is CBD from hemp different than CBD from marijuana?

No. Hemp and Marijuana both naturally produce CBD. However, due to breeding and cultivation differences, hemp is the best source for CBD since it has the highest concentration of CBD in the plant. Of course, there are exceptions to this such as certain marijuana strains, such as Charlotte's Web, that have been bred for the CBD as opposed to the THC. These type of strains, however, are typically hard to get due to the misinformed demand for them. Some people think it's better to get CBD from marijuana as opposed to hemp. This is incorrect. By definition, most of the higher CBD producing marijuana strains are considered to be hemp plants due to the low levels of THC.
